As a Credit Union, we understand the need for affordability. When assessing your application, we will take a look at your current financial situation, as well as your borrowing history with us.
If we’re confident that the loan you want is affordable and realistic for you, we will approve your application. We only need to make sure you have enough disposable income to cover your loan repayments.
When it comes to our family loans, we don’t carry out credit checks. Plus, all of our loans are still available to those currently repaying CCJs (County Court Judgements).
Our monthly interest rates are capped at 3%. Reduced rates may also be available to some personal loan members, depending on circumstances.
If you have a different loan offer with another lender, please ask us about our price match options.
Moneywise is fully regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Don’t panic about missed payments! Simply get in touch with our team as soon as you realise that you’re going to miss a repayment, and we can discuss how best to pay going forward.
If your loan application is successful, we will send your loan agreement by email, ready for your digital signature.
Once you give us a start date for your loan, we will set up your Direct Debit and deposit the funds into your account. It’s that easy!
Our team can also help you set up your Moneywise account, provide you with information on how to access your savings and help you keep track of your loan balance.

If your application is unsuccessful, we’ll provide you with information on setting up a savings account. Our team will also offer guidance on any other financial assistance we are aware of that may be available at the time. Finally, we also provide details of other support services, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, that may be able to help you.
We are unable to provide you with a loan if you:
- Are currently bankrupt
- Have an active individual voluntary arrangement (IVA)
- Have an active debt relief order (DRO)
- Our assessment shows your loan is not affordable or realistic
- Have recently missed repayments on an existing Moneywise loan.
