Adult Savers Account FAQs
As a Credit Union, we don’t pay our members interest on savings. Instead, we pay you an annual dividend, based on any surplus we make as an organisation during the financial year.
In previous years, we have paid 0.5% dividend on shares, with the amount agreed by our members at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). As a member, you will be invited to all future AGMs to give your opinion.
You can access and withdraw money from your Adult Savers Account at any time. Using the online portal, you can also check your balance and transactions.
However, if you use your savings to apply for credit, you may face withdrawal restrictions until your loan is settled in full.
As a Moneywise member, you can also apply for any of our trusted loan products online or in branch.
As long as your employer is one of our payroll partners, you can benefit from our Payroll Savings scheme. Automatically add to your savings account, directly from your monthly paycheque.
When you choose Moneywise, you can be sure that your money is in safe hands.
As a Credit Union, we operate by the same standards as any bank or building society, but we always put you first. We strive to give back to our North East communities and support our local people.
We’re regulated by the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) and authorised by both the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the PRA.
It’s generally best to get rid of any high-interest debts first, as your interest payments will likely be more than any potential return on your savings.
However, you should always try to keep some savings back for emergencies. Once you have your debt sorted, you can start to save towards longer-term goals, such as a deposit for a house or retirement.
